Building a Sustainability Rhythm for a National Property Development Business

Context

A brilliant Sustainability Strategy, co-designed with care. The problem? People didn't yet know how it connected to their everyday work. The opportunity: turn a document into a living rhythm embedded in daily culture.

Approach

We ran a Culture Design Sprint to understand where people were getting stuck. Question storming, peer interviews, idea generation. The key insight: there were already great sustainability initiatives happening across the organisation. People just didn't know about them. That shaped everything. The flagship rhythm was a behind-the-scenes site tour, facility owners taking people through their sustainability work in a structured way, finishing with a gamified conversation where people shared ideas inspired by what they'd just seen. Getting people inspired first, then creating space for peer conversation, was a powerful combination. We supported this with the Sustainability Academy, an interactive video series, peer-led case studies, and gamified workshops to keep the ideas flowing.

Impact

The site tours became an absolute hit. Employees left more aware, more inspired, and better equipped to take sustainability action, with the strategy visible in everyday decisions rather than sitting in a document.

Reconnection Rhythms for a Music Rights Organisation

Context

Post-COVID, this national music organisation was facing a familiar challenge. Distributed workforce, lower engagement, and a culture losing its visibility. They didn't need a big symbolic program. They needed a better rhythm.

Approach

We started with culture design sprints to understand where people were getting stuck. Two rhythms emerged as the priority: 1-on-1s and career development conversations. For 1-on-1s, we helped them build an approach that was distinctly theirs, then trained leaders to run them well. For career development, we asked people what they actually wanted, then designed an internal mentoring rhythm that made development a regular practice rather than an annual conversation.

Impact

The data made the case. Teams with regular 1-on-1s reported a 54% improvement in their ability to prioritise workload, a 57% uplift in feedback quality, and a 40% increase in the quality of leader relationships. When the rhythms were right, the culture followed.
